It is well known that increasing R&D productivity has been a major issue for the pharmaceutical industry and most drug company executives agree that innovation is the answer. But innovation means something quite different depending on who you ask to define it. Does an innovative product or technology always have to be a new entity, or can it simply be something that provides a valuable improvement over what was available before? Does innovation always lead to "faster, better, cheaper" and ultimately to success? Are large and small companies equally capable of delivering true innovation? Who decides what the value of innovation really is? This roundtable discussion will look at a few products and technologies that have been touted as innovative and panelists will provide a variety of viewpoints from big pharma, biotech companies and industry experts.
